1. What To Expect.

For the first 24–48 hours, it’s important to allow your extensions to fully settle and bond. Avoid washing your hair, excessive sweating, swimming, or exposing the extensions to moisture during this time. Refrain from tight hairstyles that may place tension on the attachment points, and avoid touching or adjusting the extensions unnecessarily. It is completely normal to experience some pressure and mild discomfort during this period.

Brush gently as directed by your stylist, being mindful around the bonds or wefts. Sleep with your hair completely dry, loosely secured in a braid or low ponytail to prevent tangling. Following these steps immediately after your appointment helps ensure proper bonding, comfort, and long-lasting, flawless results.

2. Our Care Tips

Gently brush using our recommended soft-bristle, extension-safe brush, which you can purchase here, beginning at the ends and working upward. Support the roots while brushing to avoid unnecessary tension. Carefully brush up to the bonds, ensuring any tangling around the attachment areas is delicately removed.

Cleanse sparingly (no more than two to three times per week) using only sulfate-free, alcohol-free, extension-safe shampoo and conditioner to preserve softness, shine, and longevity.

Wash with lukewarm water, applying conditioner from mid-lengths to ends only. Avoid the bonds or wefts to maintain their integrity.

To maintain exceptional softness and manageability, regularly apply a lightweight, extension-safe oil to the mid-lengths and ends. As extensions do not receive natural oils from the scalp, this step is essential in replenishing moisture and preserving a smooth, healthy appearance. Avoid application near the bonds or roots.

Ensure extensions are fully dried before sleeping or styling to prevent matting and tangling.

Always apply a heat protectant prior to heat styling. Avoid direct heat on bonds or wefts, minimise heat usage where possible, and never exceed 180°C.

For overnight care, secure hair in a loose braid or low ponytail and sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase to reduce friction. Never sleep with wet hair.

When not in wear, store extensions clean, dry, and beautifully brushed to maintain their pristine condition.

For swimming or gym activities, braid the hair and apply a lightweight leave-in conditioning treatment for added protection. Where possible, wear a swimming cap and avoid chlorine or salt water. Rinse immediately after exposure and dry thoroughly.

3. What not to do

Avoid excessive heat or styling at temperatures above the recommended level.

Do not sleep with wet extensions, as this can lead to tangling and matting

Do not use products containing sulfates, parabens, alcohol, or proteins, as these can compromise the hair’s quality and longevity.

Never brush extensions when soaking wet, as this may cause stretching and breakage.

Avoid “slick back” hairstyles or styles that are too tight. Excessive tension can cause breakage and damage to both your extensions and natural hair

Do not over-wash, as excessive cleansing strips essential moisture from the hair.

Avoid swimming in chlorine or salt water without proper protection. When swimming, wear a swimming cap whenever possible.

Do not apply oils, conditioners, or treatments near bonds, tapes, or wefts, as this may cause slippage.

Avoid contact with tanning lotions and sunscreen, as the chemicals in these products can cause discolouration and weaken the integrity of the hair.

Maintenance Appointments

Regular salon maintenance is essential to keep your extensions looking flawless and healthy. Weft extensions should be serviced every six to eight weeks to ensure they are repositioned and reinstalled for comfort, scalp health, and a seamless finish. K-Tip (keratin bond) extensions require consistent gentle care and should be refreshed every three to five months to maintain smoothness and protect the bonds.

If you experience discomfort, slipping, or shedding between appointments, contact your stylist immediately—never attempt to adjust or remove extensions yourself. Consistent professional upkeep is key to long-lasting, beautiful results.
